High Demand For Vintage Watches And Unique Collector’s Watches At Bukowski’s Auction Important Timepieces

The auction featured 127 quality timepieces from top brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Omega and Audemars Piguet as well as rare rarities from brands such as Jean Dunand, Heuer and Vacheron Constantin.

With great advance interest from Swedish and international bidders, the auction was very successful and attracted buyers at the absolute highest level. A rarity and highlight of the auction was the Heuer “Volvo” Carerra which was sold for a final price of SEK 206,250 resulting in a new world record for the unusual reference.

  • Bukowskis Important Timepieces once again offered qualitative and unique collector’s watches with exciting provenance. The Heuer “Volvo” Carerra, which became one of the evening’s highlights, is a fine example of the type of object that our customers are asking for, says Carl Palmegren, specialist in charge of watches.

As expected, Rolex did well with high final prices on several items, including the Sea-Dweller “Great White Mark III” Day-date II and the Submariner “Red Mark V”. Even watches in gold, both newer and older models, sold for high final prices and the auction’s top quote was the well-known “Nautilus Diamond Sigma Dial” in gold from Patek Philippe (final price SEK 700,000).

Other strong results were the IWC Yacht Club II “Jumbo”, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 “Tiffany Dial” and the Patek Philippe Calatrava “Sector Dial”. The majority of ladies also exceeded expectations with high final prices. A standout among all the expensive items was an at first glance unassuming Seamaster from Omega with an asking price of SEK 10,000, which was clubbed for a final price of SEK 75,000.

  • The auction attracted bidders from Sweden as well as internationally, and tonight’s auction shows once again that watches of the highest quality never go out of date, says Simon Naeslund, watch specialist.

The Nordic region’s largest auction for watches continues to build its leading position with increased international interest – submissions are ongoing for future auctions.

Together with Bonhams, Bukowskis reaches a global market with millions of customers via joint digital platforms and auction houses in Stockholm, Copenhagen, London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Sydney.
