Unique And Luxurious Low-Energy House Built In Loose Timber

Our property expert, Per Florin, recommends a wonderful accommodation in Trosa with a splendid view of the Baltic Sea. A loose timber low-energy house where thoughts of quality and function have permeated every detail!

From the upper floor at the front you can see the Baltic Sea and the panoramic window at the back paints a new picture of nature’s changes every day – the best of both worlds! The firm Jönsson Yderström, who both designed and built the houses on the plot, have invested a lot of time and dedication in every detail – nothing has been left to chance!

Among other things, a lot of time has been spent on finding the right sight lines in the home and working to ensure that function and design work together. The quality of the materials has also been in focus. A hand-made kitchen doors and wardrobe doors in oak as well as massive limestone benches in the kitchen with a flat-glued extra-wide stove top.

All appliances are from the Italian brand SMEG. There is a fireplace in the space between the kitchen and living room/dining room and a pantry is in the kitchen with a built-in wine fridge (Climadiff brand). There is also limestone in the bathroom and toilet, where all fittings are from Tapwell (one bathroom on each floor and another separate toilet on the upper floor).

A mobile-controlled system from Plejd controls all lighting (even the heating system is controlled via mobile and computer) – of course the lighting can also be controlled via the switches in the house. The list could be made longer…

On the entrance level, there is a sanded and hard wax-oiled concrete floor. Except in the wet room and laundry room/boiler room where there is a limestone floor in descending lengths. On the upper level, there is a massive Swedish pine floor in all dry rooms. The ceiling height on the entrance floor is 270 cm, 250 cm at the ceiling angle on the upper floor and 350 cm in the ridge.

On the plot there is also a double carport and an isolated studio (or office/guest house) with a sleeping loft. Also the one with waterborne underfloor heating and a bathroom in the same style as those in the main building. It is prepared for a kitchen and there is an exit to a small balcony.

In summary, it is a residence that stands out from the crowd and which of course must be experienced on site in order for all the details and qualities to be perceived correctly.

We asked the interior designer and stylist Pella Hedeby about her thoughts on the choice of interior design and staging of the home:

“I have chosen to follow up the character of the house with the beautiful natural material choices and textures that give the house a natural warmth. My vision is that the interior should be experienced as a natural extension of the architecture, where the functions are fulfilled and the home becomes softly inviting and undemanding.”

“The place is magical and the views through the large windows are like paintings, when you live in this home you don’t need to add any extra eye-catchers but can enjoy the experience of following nature outside. A home and a place in total harmony,” concludes Pella.
