Spring Wine & Spirits AB just launched a limited edition of Planteray Vintage Belize 2008 from the exclusive Terravera Collection. This series explores unique terroirs around the world, and now it’s Belize’s tropical turn. This is the first release in Sweden under the new Planteray name, featuring the renowned double aging process. Only 369 bottles will be available through Systembolaget’s special order assortment. Terravera, meaning “the true earth,” captures the distinct terroir of different rum-producing regions. Master blender Alexandre Gabriel aims to showcase the diversity, culture, and craftsmanship of rum from various countries. Planteray Vintage Belize 2008, part of the six exceptional rums in the Terravera Collection, is now available in a limited edition.
Distilled in a multi-column still at Travellers Liquors Limited Distillery in Belize City, this rum aged for 13 years in bourbon barrels in Belize’s tropical climate. It then journeyed to Javrezac, France, for an additional two years in French oak barrels previously used for Ferrand’s cognac. The result is a highly complex Belizean rum, released in a unique, limited edition.
Tasting notes include deep, spicy bourbon aromas of cinnamon, vanilla, clove, roasted almonds, leather, coconut, honey, and banana. The palate features citrus, pear, butterscotch, cocoa, pepper, clove, licorice, tobacco, dried fruit, and coffee, with a long finish of dried fruit, cherry, vanilla, coffee beans, and fresh herbs.
The bottle features a custom label with ancient Mayan ruins, inviting you to explore Belize’s famous sites nestled in its lush jungles. Planteray, formerly known as Plantation Rum, reflects the brand’s commitment to quality and passion for rum lovers worldwide. The new name honors the raw material, sugarcane (Plant), and the sun’s rays (Ray).
