The Retreat Costa Rica, a renowned luxury wellness boutique resort and spa, is investing $3 million in a 26,500-square-foot expansion set to complete by April 2025. The project includes a clubhouse, three restaurants, and 10 luxurious Santosha Lofts.
Founder Diana Stobo, named among Conde Nast Traveler’s Top Ten Spa Destinations, emphasizes the growing demand for holistic luxury in wellness. Inspired by the Sanskrit word Santosha (contentment), the new facilities will blend sustainable design, local materials, and nature-focused luxury to create a restorative guest experience.
Highlights include:
- Santosha Clubhouse: A 16,500-square-foot space featuring Indigenous relics, a Guanacaste tree canopy, a lap pool, and a yoga shala with serene tones and mountain views.
- Santosha Lofts: 945-square-foot lofts embracing feng shui, natural design, and indoor-outdoor harmony with Pacific Ocean vistas and artisan-crafted details.
- Dining Options: Three new restaurants, including the Michelin-inspired Mystique, casual lounge La Diosa, and poolside Richard’s Kitchen.
The resort also boasts a farm-to-table restaurant, coffee plantation, yoga studio, saltwater pools, and sweeping views of the Gulf of Nicoya.
