Planteray introduces the exclusive Clarendon 1984, the oldest rum in the brand’s history, capturing the essence of Jamaica. This limited-edition masterpiece—produced in only 317 bottles worldwide—launches in Sweden with just 24 bottles available via Systembolaget’s order assortment starting January 27. Distilled in 1984 at the Clarendon Distillery in Jamaica and bottled in 2024, this 40-year-old rum underwent 35 years of tropical aging in bourbon casks, followed by 5 years in Ferrand cognac casks in France. This dual-aging process creates a distinctive complexity. Bottled at cask strength (57.2%), the rum boasts a rich, aromatic profile with balanced tannins and elegant flavors, reflecting the craftsmanship of Jamaica’s southern distilleries.

To enhance its rarity, the rum comes in a handcrafted wooden box containing a 70 cl bottle and a 3 cl sampler, allowing tasting without opening the main bottle. The packaging features intricate details, including a cork made from repurposed cask wood and a medalion crafted from the original rum barrel, each hand-engraved and numbered.
